Want to look like you have a scheme to take over the world? Or maybe you just want something cool and unique to drive around in? If either of those sentiments speaks to you, Bring A Trailer has got the car for you. This Plymouth Prowler Woodward Edition currently for sale has a cool two-tone paint job and double-digit mileage, and if you have deep enough pockets, you should definitely bid on it.
It’s hard to forget the Plymouth Prowler, which was sold as a Chrysler in later years. The hot-rod inspired roadster was made from 1997 to 2002, though it was lacking hot rod power under the hood with its LH-derived 3.5-liter V6 and automatic transmission. Over its production run a number of special editions were made, noticeable by their unique exterior colors such as the dark blue Mulholland Edition or the two-tone Black Tie Edition.
Named after the famous cruising avenue in Detroit, the Prowler Woodward Edition differed from other Prowlers with its unique red and black two-tone paint, which looks pretty villainous. I could easily see Cruella de Vil or Harley Quinn being behind the wheel of this thing. The upper half of the car is painted black, including the hood, upper part of the doors and rear deck. A special red pinstripe by renowned Detroit pinstripe painter Dr. Ru finished off the bottom part of the black paint, and the lower half of the car was painted red. The Woodward Editions also got special wheels (staggered 17 inchers in the front and 20 inchers in the rear), a red speedo cluster and Dr. Ru’s signature right above the rear license plate. Only 151 Woodward Editions were ever made.
According to the description of this particular Woodward Edition, it was one of two brand new Prowlers purchased by the owner at a Chrysler dealership in Philadelphia in 2000, and it had just nine miles on the odometer when it was new. As things usually go with cars like this, the owner bought it but never enjoyed it. The owner put another 22 miles on it driving it from the dealership to their private hanger, and in the last 25 years just 20 more miles have been put on this Prowler, resulting in the sad 51 miles it currently has. The car is in excellent condition and even comes with its original window sticker; its $45,225 MSRP is a reminder of just how far we’ve fallen. If this classic Prowler speaks to you, there’s four days left in the auction, which should be plenty of time to take its bidding far above its current $27,777.
