Stars of the Lid to Reissue Debut Album for 30th Anniversary

Adam Wiltzie has announced a reissue of Stars of the Lid’s first album, Music for Nitrous Oxide, to celebrate its 30th anniversary. The new edition is out on July 25 via Wiltzie’s Artificial Pinearch Manufacturing. Below, see a newly released video for an edited version of the album’s “Adamord.”

The sound engineer Francesco Donadello did the remaster for Music for Nitrous Oxide. The new edition marks the first time the album will be available on vinyl, as it was released originally on CD in 1995 (and also reissued on CD in 2008).

Music for Nitrous Oxide (30 Year Anniversary Remastered) is the first major Stars of the Lid release since the death of co-founder Brian McBride in 2023. “In the wake of losing Brian almost two years ago,” Wiltzie explained, “I felt it was time to revisit and acknowledge this long-forgotten archive on the beginning of Stars of the Lid.”
