That’s right! It’s been 20 years since Jalopnik first graced the internet and, in all that time, we’ve somehow avoided gaining our own wikipedia page. But who’s bitter?
Yes, the forgotten red-headed stepchild of not just Gawker, not just Gizmodo but the entire auto enthusiast news industry is made of strong stuff. We are all survivors. In the event of a nuclear war, the Earth will be dominated by cockroaches reading the latest posts written from our underground editorial bunker in [REDACTED].
Over the years, fantastic writers have passed through these hallowed pages. On this holiest of holies (at least, for a union shop) Labor Day we’re giving our regular crew a break to revisit some of our favorite Jalopnik moments over the last two decades.
A lot of these stories are very old. Some old enough to vote. They’re from a different time on the internet, so expect to see missing images, broken links and outdate language. It just wouldn’t be Jalopnik Classic without some weird Kinja issues and off-color humor, right?
We are grateful to have share all these special moments with you, and been a small part of bringing a little joy or information to your lives. We hope we can do so for another 20 years.
