The Lexus LFA is an undisputed motoring icon. The Japanese supercar won fans around the globe with its understated styling, nerdy dedication to performance and roaring V10 motor. Now, if you aren’t one of the lucky 500 LFA owners around the world, you can while away the hours listening to the glorious V10 rumble for yourself.

The Lexus LFA debuted in 2009 as a car that could showcase the engineering might of Toyota. It was developed over almost a decade, was tested at racetracks around the world and put more than 70 years of Toyota engineering into practice.

At its heart was a bespoke V10 engine that was built just for the LFA and was never used again. The engine produced more than 500 horsepower and was packed with all kinds of exotic materials like titanium and magnesium. It was also co-developed with help from Yamaha, which sent its music team out to assist with the exhaust system to ensure that the car sounded as awesome as possible.

The team best known for high-end saxophones did good, and the “roar of an Angel” that Toyota says comes from the LFA’s rear end is one of the greatest engine notes out there. If you’ve forgotten what a great engine sounds like, then you’ll be pleased to hear that Toyota has now compiled a three-hour long video of the LFA’s V10.

The film, which was brought to our attention by the folks at Motor1, was shared by Toyota Times and is packed with every kind of pop, bang and rumble that the LFA kicks out while being driven in anger.

If you’re the kind of person who works best with music playing away in the background or the white noise of a podcast, then try this LFA video out for size today instead. It kicks off with the LFA’s V10 starting up from cold, which is positively majestic. Then, over the course of three hours, one minute and three seconds, there are countless wails as the engine hits the redline, barks of power as the gas is mashed and content grumbles of a V10 at idle.
