The Skins Game is officially back.
It was announced on Tuesday that the event is returning on Black Friday this year and will feature Tommy Fleetwood, Keegan Bradley, Justin Thomas, and Xander Schauffele as its participants. Interestingly, it is set to air on Prime Video.
For those unaware, The Skins Game was a popular event that would air on television in the late 1990s and early part of the 21st century. It was sort of what modern times know The Match events to be before they existed.
The new iteration of the event is set to be played at Panther National in Florida and will obviously be played in skins format. According to Front Office Sports there will be a “reverse purse” where all players begin with a million dollars on the scoreboard and that figure will rise and fall as things progress. This is why The Skins Game is being advertised as having four million dollars at stake.
Sports fans may be familiar with Prime Video entering the NFL a few years ago with their (now) annual Black Friday game. The Skins Game will air at 8am CT on Black Friday and take the viewing audience into that afternoon’s NFL game between the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles. This year is also seeing Amazon get into the NBA and there will be two games on Black Friday as well (Milwaukee Bucks at New York Knicks and Dallas Mavericks at Los Angeles Lakers).
