Serena Williams attended Day Seven of the 2024 U.S. Open Tennis Championships on Sept. 1 in a head-to-toe Gucci ensemble. The tennis legend, known for her style choices both on and off the court, wore a look that exemplified the seamless integration of luxury fashion into sportswear.
Williams’ outfit featured a white miniskirt paired with a polo crop top, both designed with modern interpretations of classic tennis attire. The fitted skirt was highlighted with black and yellow trim at the top and bottom, adding a subtle pop of color to the all-white base. The polo crop top, meanwhile, showcased Gucci’s GG Supreme monogram pattern in a vibrant tennis ball yellow, blending the brand’s iconic monogram with a tenniscore twist.
To complement her outfit, Williams carried Gucci’s Ophidia GG Pouch. The accessory showcased the brand’s signature beige GG pattern and central green and red heritage stripes, creating a cohesive look that complemented her ensemble.
Williams also wore Gucci’s Re-Web sneakers, a design credited as the first style created by the brand’s new creative director, Sabato De Sarno. The sneakers incorporated the same tennis ball yellow accents and GG Supreme pattern seen throughout her outfit.
Williams’ U.S. Open appearance highlighted her ability to blend high fashion and functional sportswear, making a statement beyond the tennis courts. During the 2024 Paris Olympics in August, Williams showcased her sporty chic style while watching the men’s singles final between Serbia’s Novak Djokovic and Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz. The retired tennis player wore a Nike letterman jacket emblazoned with her initial, pairing it with leggings baring the brand’s signature “Swoosh” above the knees. Williams completed her ensemble with a tank top, sleek sneakers and a delicate gold chain necklace. She also added on a small handbag and oversize sunglasses.
