Designer and frequent sneaker collaborator Sean Wotherspoon is getting into 3D printed shoes via a new project with Zellerfeld.
The new two-silhouette collection, dubbed “Sean Double U,” features a mule and a sneaker printed entirely from a single recyclable material. Using Zellerfeld’s technology, every pair is made-to-order, custom-fitted through a simple foot scan, and recyclable at the end of its life.
Wotherspoon, who frequently collaborates with Adidas, said in a statement that the new collection is “about the different sides we all have.”
“The sneaker is for motion,” he said. “The mule is for slowing down. I wanted pieces that move with every version of you. Zellerfeld gave me a level of freedom I have never had before, no factories, no waiting, no ceilings on creativity or my imagination.”
Cornelius Schmitt, chief executive officer of Zellerfeld, added that he is “proud to be working with Sean, who is one of the true GOATs in this space, to show the world what is possible.”
“We built Zellerfeld to break the old rules and put creative control back where it belongs, with the people moving culture and design forward,” Schmitt said. “We are not just making shoes,” Schmitt added. “We have built an ecosystem that makes it possible for anyone to create without limits, and at the speed culture actually moves.”
Next to Sean Wotherspoon, Zellerfeld has been chosen by some of the most influential names in design and culture like Nike, Louis Vuitton, Moncler, Jeff Staple, Heron Preston, and KidSuper.

Most recently, Zellerfeld released the new 3D-printed Sapienz sneaker with Jeff Staple this past March. The shoe features a bone-like design resembling laces, in reference to the once-necessary element of a sneaker.
Earlier that same month, Zellerfeld teamed up with Mallet on a new shoe. Dubbed the Nebula, the shoe is Mallet’s first foray into 3D printing and is considered the next chapter of its signature Neptune sneaker.
The Sean Double U Sneaker, which retails for $189, and the Sean Double U Mule, which retails for $149, are available exclusively on Zellerfeld.com.
