Scarlett Johansson Embraces Power Dressing for ‘Saturday Night Live’

Scarlett Johansson embraced power suiting with a festive, holiday twist during Saturday’s episode of “Saturday Night Live” in New York City. The two-time Oscar-nominated actress joined host Martin Short and several high-profile guests for the variety comedy show’s last episode before the Christmas holiday.

For the live taping of the series, Johansson wore two variations on her black suit. During a surprise appearance at Studio 8H, the “Marriage Story” star wore a black suit with an oversize blazer and rounded lapels. Johansson paired the blazer with a black vest and basic black trousers.

For the episode’s finale, which featured the entire cast, including special guests, joining Short for the evening’s farewell address, Johansson traded in her basic black blazer for a jacket with a healthy touch of sparkle.

The actress wore a shimmering black blazer with allover sparkles that shimmered under the lights. The choice elevated Johansson’s initial attire, adding a touch of holiday glitter to the look. When it came to her glam and accessories, Johansson kept it simple.

The actress wore layered necklaces in shades of gold and chose a pair of dainty earrings to complete the accessories portion of her look. As for her hair and makeup, Johansson opted for a clean aesthetic, with bold brows, lightly lined eyes and a glossy lip. Her hair was pulled back into a sophisticated chignon.

Johansson’s choice to opt for a power suiting aesthetic as opposed to traditional, classic holiday attire seen on such high-profile figures as First Lady Jill Biden, among others, showcases the versatility of a quality monochrome look with added sparkle.

While many favor variations on red, green and potentially silver and gold looks for the holiday season, Johansson’s attire on “Saturday Night Live,” particularly her shimmering black blazer, demonstrates the wide range of festive sartorial statements that are made during the season.
