Sarah Jessica Parker had a full-circle moment on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast this week when host Alex Cooper surprised her by wearing a pair of heels that longtime “Sex and the City” fans would immediately recognize.
The slingback sandals — a lilac suede style from Jimmy Choo, trimmed with white feathers — were reissued this spring as part of the brand’s 1997-2001 archival collection. They originally debuted in 1998 and gained cult status in the show’s third season when Carrie Bradshaw lost one while rushing to catch the Staten Island Ferry, yelling the now-famous line: “I lost my Choo!”
Cooper referenced the moment directly in her conversation with Parker. “These shoes… I have never worn open-toe heels on ‘Call Her Daddy’ — ever. Ever in the history of ever,” she said. “But it’s just an ode to Miss Carrie Bradshaw.”
The host styled the sandals with a loosely inspired version of the original outfit: a green jersey and cargo pants, nodding to Carrie’s look from the episode “Where There’s Smoke.” Parker immediately clocked the reference. “I knew the minute I saw it,” she said. “I don’t actually remember a lot, but I remember outfits and cross streets.”
The actress also confirmed that two pairs were used for filming that day due to the amount of running required in the scene. “The pair that I wore has the glue under the feather — it’s yellowed,” Parker explained. “We pull them out all the time to have them on the show now… but the new pair has no sentimental value. When I saw fresh pairs I was like, wow, they do look good.”

Cooper replied, “But I bet the yellow glue is even sexier,” to which Parker added simply: “It’s pretty touching.”
The reissue is part of Jimmy Choo’s 30th anniversary initiative, curated by creative director Sandra Choi alongside designer Conner Ives and fashion archivist Alexander Fury. In addition to the “72138” feathered sandal, the capsule includes styles like “The Leo,” the leopard-print heel worn in the show’s opening credits, as well as the “Faye” metallic mule, the crystal-embellished “Torie” slingback and the ““Vapa” strappy sandal in satin” — each a nod to the brand’s early years and Carrie Bradshaw’s influence on turn-of-the-millennium fashion.
