Rihanna Enters ‘Soccer Mom’ Era at Fenty x Puma Avanti Launch Party

Rihanna channeled her inner soccer mom at a Fenty x Puma conference on Thursday in Los Angeles, which promoted the Avanti sneaker.

The singer and entrepreneur sported a striped knit button-up polo dress from Christopher John Rogers, which debuted as part of the label’s pre-fall 2024 line. Naturally, Rihanna accessorized with the Fenty x Puma Avanti in Warm White. Layered gold necklaces and chunky rings topped off her look.

Rihanna currently works with stylist Jahleel Weaver, who also dresses Dua Lipa.

At the press conference, the Fenty Beauty founder wore her dark tresses in a sleek bob, while her makeup consisted of pink eye shadow, coral blush and a glossy nude lip.

Rihanna fielded questions from an audience of youngsters, sitting in front of a backdrop that read “Soccer Mom” in bedazzled gold script. Puma’s Avanti sneakers, a silhouette inspired by soccer cleats, were first introduced by the brand in 2001. With her Fenty sublabel, Rihanna has put her own spin on the design, introducing metallic and pony hair iterations.

Rihanna previously played with scholastic-inspired branding for her Fenty x Creeper Phatty “In Session” campaign, which saw models including “Euphoria” actress Chloe Cherry and Anjelica Huston embody stereotypical classroom roles, from teacher’s pet to Cherry’s Goth girl to Huston’s principal.

In July, Rihanna stepped out in New York wearing the sneaker at a soccer game between Manchester City and AC Milan. She paired them with a cropped jersey-inspired T-shirt, a plaid Miu Miu miniskirt and logo bikini briefs, adding on hoop earrings and a distressed khaki cap.
