Rhone Names Matthew Wallace Chief Operating Officer

Rhone continues to build out its management team.

The Connecticut-based company has brought Matthew Wallace on board as chief operating officer.

Wallace, who has more than three decades of experience leading operations and business development, joins Nate Checketts, chief executive officer and cofounder; Ben Checketts, creative director; Kelly Cooper, chief product officer, and Bethany Evans, chief marketing officer, as part of Rhone’s executive leadership team.

At Rhone, Wallace will oversee finance, people, supply chain, operations and technology.

Nate Checketts said Wallace’s “extensive operational experience and people-first leadership approach align deeply with our mission to inspire progress in all its forms. Matthew’s expertise will help position Rhone for long-term, meaningful growth as we continue to build a global community around performance and purpose.”

Wallace served most recently as CEO and cofounder of DXM Inc., a fashion technology startup platform that allows consumers to customize everything from design to delivery. He has also held senior leadership roles at Walmart, PVH Corp. and Cerberus Capital, where he worked on global operations, digital transformation and business innovation.

“I’ve long admired Rhone, not only for the quality and integrity of its products but for the way it champions mental fitness, community and progress,” Wallace said.

He has a bachelor’s in business management from Ithaca College and studied at Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science. Wallace also served as an adjunct professor of supply chain management at Fashion Institute of Technology and as a guest professor at NC State University.

Rhone started out as a men’s performance brand in 2014 and over the years has expanded into a full lifestyle collection. It created its first women’s capsule in 2020 and three years later introduced a full collection of sport and lifestyle pieces.
