Quinta Brunson’s Patent Open-Toe Shoes Ground Missoni Set at Televerse

Quinta Brunson leaned into polish over embellishment at the TV Academy’s inaugural Televerse Festival, pairing a striped Missoni set with glossy black open-toe shoes in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The “Abbott Elementary” creator and star walked the red carpet in a striped Missoni set — a metallic crochet-knit polo shirt and skirt in peach, taupe, black and silver — finished with glossy black open-toe shoes. Their silhouette was pared back: patent with a low vamp that left most of the toes visible. What the design lacked in hardware or flash, it made up for in reflective clarity, pulling Missoni’s shimmer into sharper focus.

That restraint is notable in Brunson’s ongoing rotation. Just three weeks ago at Comic-Con, she leaned into Paris Texas’ blush mesh Lidia heels, all intersecting straps and translucence. Earlier this year, she doubled down on Louboutin signatures — crystal-trimmed PVC pumps, then a grounded pair in chocolate leather.

It also ties her into a larger shift happening across celebrity shoe closets. Julia Fox stepped into Saint Laurent’s Romy peep-toes earlier this month for Cara Delevingne’s birthday party, using their slim profile to cut through a retro-sport look. Emily Ratajkowski has put Paris Texas’ black patent Lidia heels on repeat in New York, pairing them with everything from vintage Gucci to a blazer and capris. Becky G relied on a similar pointed black slip-on for Broadway in June. Each has used the silhouette’s simplicity to offset louder choices — the same calculus Brunson made in Missoni stripes.

Her appearance came as the Academy debuted Televerse, a new Los Angeles festival positioned at JW Marriott L.A. Live to spotlight television through screenings, panels and reunions. The opening lineup included Henry Winkler’s acting masterclass, a Harrison Ford conversation with Tommy Schlamme and cast reunions for “Queer as Folk” and “Slow Horses.”
