Game day update: Judkins is expected to be active but will have his snaps closely monitored, per Ian Rapoport. He is expected to serve in a backup capacity for the time-being.
The Cleveland Browns head to Baltimore as 11.5-point underdogs against the Ravens on Sunday and they may have their early second round pick Quinshon Judkins along for the ride. Judkins wasn’t signed by the Browns after he was drafted 36th overall due to longer than usual contract negotiations and then a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence and battery that the prosecutors eventually decided not to pursue. The NFL still could suspend him after their own investigation, but at this point there is no news either way and if he is active, he’ll be able to play this Sunday.
Quinshon Judkins injury updates
Judkins was able to practice in full on Thursday and Friday, ending up listed as questionable to play on the injury report. His status isn’t based on an injury, but on a lack of practice time and understanding of the offense. The team officially activated him to the 53-man roster on Saturday, which suggests he will be active on Sunday against the Ravens. If the team feels he’s ready on those fronts, he’ll likely be active against the Ravens.
Fantasy football analysis
The Browns also drafted running back Dylan Sampson and have Jerome Ford, who was their starter last season. Sampson looked good in Week 1 against the Bengals and should once again see the majority of running back snaps as Judkins gets acclimated. There is a chance Judkins plays and gets some work, but it would be surprising to see him get enough touches to be fantasy relevant this week. If you do want to take a chance on him, I’d want it to be in a standard settings league, as I could see him get goal line work if he looked good in practice between the tackles.
