After beating the whole of the AFC West to start the season, the Chargers have lost two in a row to the Giants and Commanders to go 3-2. Injuries on the Chargers offensive line have been a key factor in those losses and they should again be a key factor when they head to South Beach to take on the Dolphins as 4.5-point favorites.
They’ve also lost their top running back, as Omarion Hampton, has been put on I.R. and will miss at least four games, while breakout start receiver Quentin Johnston is questionable with a hamstring injury.
Quentin Johnston injury updates
Johnston was able to get in limited practices all three days, but never got in a full day of work. He’s ended up as questionable to play and with hamstring injuries, if he’s feeling anything Sunday morning, he could sit. But there’s also a decent chance they were just giving him some extra rest for a fairly non-concerning injury. Right now we just don’t know for sure.
Fantasy football analysis
Johnston has been on absolute fire until last week when he caught four passes for 40 yards and lost a critical fumble. That’s not enough for hi to lose any work, but with two strong receivers in Keenan Allen and Ladd McConkey vying for targets, any need to go away from him will have a good receiver to fill that need.
If he can’t play, we’d probably see more of rookies Tre Harris and KeAndre Lambert-Smith. Neither would be fantasy starts, while Allen and McConkey would see concentrated targets against an awful Dolphins pass defense.
