Queen Máxima Brings Back a Go-to Suede Stiletto for PUM Awards

Queen Máxima brought a warm neutral hit to a bright winter palette on Wednesday, pairing Gianvito Rossi’s suede stiletto with a vivid red coat at the PUM Awards in Breda.

She chose a style from Gianvito Rossi’s 105 line — a silhouette that often shows up in her public appearances. The golden-brown suede version she wore had a pointed toe and a low, scooped vamp, with the material bringing a soft texture through the upper. The stiletto held to the line’s slim 105mm shape. Máxima has worn the same silhouette in other finishes — including a tan napa leather version during the Czech State Visit back in June — making the pump a steady fixture across her engagements.

The pump also ties back to the brand’s recent expansion. Earlier this year, Gianvito Rossi introduced its Shades of Gianvito program, offering the 105 pump in up to 30 suede colors alongside its classic 85mm version. The project built on the silhouette’s long-standing popularity since its 2008 debut, a run that has made it a favorite among high-profile dressers such as Kate Middleton, Margaret Qualley and Ariana Grande.

Máxima paired the pumps with a structured red coatdress set that leaned on clean lines and saturated color. The coat featured a gathered neckline and a straight, mid-calf cut opening onto a matching dress. A camel wide-brim hat and a metallic beige clutch brought in softer tones, while brown gloves and crystal earrings rounded out the look. The warm accessories stayed close to the pump’s suede finish, giving the outfit a tight red-and-neutral palette.

Máxima was in Breda for the PUM Awards, which recognize SMEs working with Dutch volunteer experts in 30 countries. The event followed her late-November visit to Indonesia, where her footwear ranged from patterned loafers to coordinated pumps, often matched with staples from Natan.
