Queen Camilla Dons Trusty Russell & Bromley Boots for Church in Wales

King Charles III and Queen Camilla attended the Royal Maundy Service at St. Asaph Cathedral on Thursday in St. Asaph, Wales. The queen returned to her usual footwear for chillier weather, so she slipped into a pair of black suede boots.

For the event, Camilla returned to her trusty Russell & Bromley Dressage knee-high boots, made from rich black suede, which she often wears during her royal outings. The Dressage boots draw inspiration from the popular equestrian knee-high boot and offer an elegant iteration suitable for everyday wear.

The boots are crafted in Italy from the finest smooth suede leather. The sleek design features a stitched seam down the front, which leads to a soft almond toe, which is a more comfortable silhouette than a pointed toe. The boots sit on a suede-wrapped block heel measuring around 2 inches. The boots are fastened by a full inside zip with an elasticated gusset for optimal comfort.

She paired the boots with a bespoke Christian Dior navy blue midi-length coat with a fitted design and embroidery on the bodice. She matched the boots with a black leather Christian Dior bag and topped off the look with a navy blue bespoke Philip Treacy hat.

The 78-year-old royal remains loyal to a handful of footwear brands and styles. The Russell & Bromley boots are among her favorite and have become one of her go-to shoe options during colder months. In January, she attended the Sunday morning church service at St. Mary Magdalene church in Sandringham, Norfolk, wearing a beige coat with black accessories and black boots.

The British royal family has a strict royal dress code to follow when it comes to hats, footwear, jewelry and skirt length. For shoes, they are reportedly encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes for events that take place during the day.

When she’s not wearing boots, Camilla often steps out in almond-toe pumps with a sensible heel from brands like Sole Bliss, Chanel, Eliot Zed, and more. Take a look below at how her shoe style has evolved over the years.
