Public Safety Drone Review April 2026

DRONELIFE and DRONERESPONDERS host live webcast April 7 at 3 PM EST

Register here for the next Public Safety Drone Review, presented by DRONELIFE and DRONERESPONDERS, will take place on Tuesday, April 7 at 3 PM EST. This month’s session will focus on how public safety agencies use drones in remote environments, with a closer look at operations on the island of Lanai, Hawaii.

The monthly webcast series brings together public safety professionals and program leaders to share real-world experience. Each session highlights how agencies are building, managing, and scaling drone programs in the field.

Featured Guest: George Purdy, Lanai City

This month’s guest is George Purdy, UAS ‘Aina Management Director for the City of Lanai, Hawaii.

Purdy oversees drone operations in a setting defined by isolation, limited infrastructure, and complex terrain. In this environment, drones provide critical support for situational awareness and response. His experience offers insight into how drone programs can adapt to conditions where traditional resources are limited.

The session will be hosted by Miriam McNabb, Editor-in-Chief of DRONELIFE, Charles Werner, Director of DRONERESPONDERS, and Mike O’Shea, Director of UAS Training at DRONERESPONDERS. The discussion will combine operational perspective with broader context on the role of drones in public safety.

Drones in Expanding Public Safety Roles

Public safety drone programs continue to grow across the United States. Many agencies are integrating drones into daily operations and exploring Drone as First Responder models.

For communities in remote or resource-limited areas, drones can play an even greater role. This session will examine how one program is addressing those challenges and what lessons may apply to other agencies.

Register now and don’t miss this free webcast.  The series is part of DRONERESPONDERS’ and DRONELIFE’s ongoing effort to support public safety UAS programs through shared knowledge and collaboration.
