Chinese star Chen Haoyu is the newest member of Prada‘s ambassador family.
The 32-year-old singer and actress is a household name in China, where she became famous in 2014 after winning the third season of reality singing competition “Chinese Million Star.” Haoyu has starred in many films and television series, including “Summer of Meizhou” (2015) and “Home Coming” (2022). In 2024, she was featured in “Born to Be the One,” “Be My Friend” and “Begin Again,” and won the variety show “Ride Wind.”
“From the stage to the screen, Chen Haoyu has consistently explored diverse expressions of her talent with versatility and skill,” Prada said in a statement.
Haoyu’s and Prada’s relationship became closer last year when the actress attended different events hosted by the brand, including the “Distance of the Moon” exhibition at Prada Rong Zhai in Shanghai.
Prada has a star-studded team of ambassadors, which includes Chinese stars Jia Ling and Li Xian, Harris Dickinson, Damson Idris, Hunter Schafer and Letitia Wright, among others. In August, the luxury brand welcomed Karina, the lead member of South Korean girl band Aespa, to the group.
Prada has been actively expanding its presence in the Chinese market. In 2023, the brand partnered with the Chinese Women’s National Football Team, providing outfits for the 23-player squad and delegates while traveling and at formal events. The partnership extended throughout the 2023 Asian Games and the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The luxury brand has also previously worked with Chinese auteur Jia Zhangke on a Prada Rongzhai project titled “Mian” and dressed a main character in Wang Kar Wai’s hit TV series “Blossoms Shanghai,” which inspired a capsule collection.
