Following his collaboration on Adidas’ $500 super shoe, Pharrell is now taking on what many consider the best new running shoe of the year — and one at a much more approachable price point.
The Pharrell x Adidas Evo SL will come in two colorways influenced by his minimalist Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1. The white colorway is essentially a carbon copy with the same white midsole and upper with stripes crossing over the two elements in green, blue and brown to represent Earth. This same grouping of colors then carries over to another edition with a black upper and sole unit and green tongue branding rather than blue.
Adidas gave the Evo SL a limited release in 2024 before bringing it to the masses in 2025. It’s heavily influenced by the Pro Evo 1 but forgoes the carbon fiber plate and utilizes a LightStrike Pro compound with much greater durability. A slightly higher forefoot also allows more foam to be packed in the midsole, but the Evo SL still comes in at just 224 grams, comparable to the Adizero Adios Pro 3 super shoe that launched in 2022.

Versatility is the Evo SL’s greatest strength, as it serves well for daily, tempo and long runs. Several publications, including Believe in the Run and Runner’s World, have named it the front runner for running shoe of the year.
In a 2024 interview with Footwear News, Adidas’ Simon Lockett, category director for Adidas Running, said: “Around a year ago, the team sat down and said, ‘What can we do differently? What can we add to the Adizero lineup to make it an even stronger proposition for all consumers?’ Ultimately, the team landed on the Evo SL, which takes the name, high stack and branding from the [Pro Evo 1.]”
Also coming from Pharrell and Adidas soon is his highly anticipated and super chunky Jellyfish model.
The Pharrell x Adidas Evo SL doesn’t yet have a firm release date but will drop at some time in August through Adidas’ website. Pricing has also yet to be confirmed, but the Evo SL typically retails for $150.
