Paka Offering Free Peru Trip in One Holiday Sock Gift Box

Paka has found a novel way to promote its socks.

The Colorado-based sustainable apparel brand best known for its use of alpaca fiber in outdoors-inspired product is selling a Sock Gift Box with an unusual twist. What’s pretty standard is that the box features three options of a trio of Paka’s alpaca socks: the Crew Box with socks in light gray, charcoal or Andean moss; the Graphics Box featuring Mountain, Inca and Sebastian designs, and the Thermals Box in Spacedye, Cóndor and Costa styles.

Each box is priced at $59 and comes in sizes medium and large.

But what makes this gift unique is that customers who order one of the limited-edition boxes will be entered into a drawing to win an all-inclusive trip for two to Peru. The winner will also receive $500 of free Paka merchandise at the company’s flagship and café in Cusco before exploring the Andes and Machu Picchu.

“At Paka, our mission is to connect our community with our roots and operations in Peru,” said company founder Kris Cody. “Through our Traceable Alpaca program, we’ve worked to connect customers with our sourcing to understand and visualize where their apparel fiber comes from. This holiday season, we wanted to further connect our community to the source: a chance for one customer to experience Peru firsthand with two round-trip tickets and a fully-planned tour of the Andes.”

Alpaca fiber socks offer the lowest water retention rate of all natural fibers, have antibacterial proteins and are three times as warm as sheep’s wool, the company said. They are also machine-washable and come with a lifetime guarantee.
