Onitsuka Tiger Spring 2026 Ready to Wear Runway, Fashion Show & Collection Review

This collection of sporty, breezy separates is smartening up.

While all the usual athletic touches — go-faster stripes on skinny track pants, boxy jogging shorts and oversize sweatshirts — were in place, Andrea Pompilio gave them added polish with the addition of tailored jackets, tweed fabrics and wrinkly shirts adorned with ruffles and bows.

As always, these were easy clothes that come with sports in their DNA. The Asics-owned Onitsuka Tiger is chiefly a footwear brand, and the clothing is meant to add a glamorous — and colorful — sheen to the offer.

For spring, the glamour came in the shape of single- and double-breasted jackets which Pompilio paired with vintage running shorts or slim tracksuit pants. There were also oversize coats and tailored shirts done in a bright yellow tweed that recalled the signature fabrics of an historic French fashion house.

The designer also put a casual spin on classic formal dress, sending out wrinkly blue cotton shirts and dresses with ruffles and bows, which looked as if they’d spent a few days crushed in the bottom of a sports bag, along with a pair of the brand’s classic Mexico 66 trainers.

Shoes included satin ballet styles that riffed on the Mexico 66, and a lineup of leather and suede boots and sandals fit for the next round of summer music festivals.

Papery leather miniskirts worn low on the hips looked cool, as did a sparkly black flapper dress with a rippling lavender ribbon at the neck. Other looks, such as the boxy, button-front boxy dresses, were frumpy, and looked out of place on an otherwise fun, albeit crowded, catwalk.
