We have about a week to go until the Olympics start. Needless to say, they are going to be a ton of fun.
It is always interesting to experience the Winter Olympics as they happen at this time of year. At every turn there is snowboarding, figure skating, and hockey happening all around us… and it all starts as soon as the Super Bowl ends so our sports bellies stay well-fed.
Recently one of the greatest hockey players of modern history in T.J. Oshie joined me to talk about this entire thing, particularly how the Super Bowl is serving as a launching point for the Winter Olympics. Oshie is a part of a Super Bowl commercial titled “The ULTRA Instructor” where he, Kurt Russell, Lewis Pullman, and Olympic Games gold medalist Chloe Kim are all on the slopes. The commercial features Russell trying to coach everyone up through the skiing action and he can be seen offering his iconic “again” command which was made famous when he played the role of Herb Brooks in the movie Miracle that chronicled the story of the 1980 United States hockey team that upset the Soviets in one of the greatest games of any sport ever played.

Oshie discussed his own Olympic experience in our conversation, something he clearly holds near and dear to his heart.
Hopefully all of the Americans this year can channel the energy he brought to the Games and that he and his co-stars did this commercial.
