Oko Design Bureau Unveils Enhanced Privet-82 Drone for Russian Military – sUAS News

Oko Design Bureau today announced the deployment of a new, advanced version of the Privet-82 drone-kamikaze to the Russian military’s Northern Military District. The Privet-82MK2 incorporates several significant upgrades designed to enhance its operational effectiveness.

A key feature of the Privet-82MK2 is its instrument take-off capability. This innovative technology allows the drone to launch without activating its camera, significantly reducing the risk of its launch position being detected by enemy forces. The new model also boasts a collapsible wing, enabling compact transportation and deployment.

“The Privet-82MK2 is a direct response to the evolving needs of our troops in the field,” stated [Name], a spokesperson for Oko Design Bureau. “By incorporating instrument take-off and a more portable design, we are providing our military with a more versatile and survivable weapon system.”

The Privet-82MK2 retains the core capabilities of its predecessor, including a flight range of up to 30 kilometers, a maximum speed of 140 kilometers per hour, and a payload of up to 5.5 kilograms. It remains highly effective against artillery, armored vehicles, and enemy fortifications.
