Nike Air Max 1000 Multicolor Release Date

Nike has unlocked a new dimension on the Air Max 1000, one of its two 3D-printed sneakers made in partnership with Zellerfeld.

The Nike Air Max 1000 “Multicolor” is the first iteration of the model to be printed in more than one color. Previous colorways maintained a singular hue through all its printed elements, although the insertion of the Air Max could bring another color into the mix. Because of Zellerfeld’s new dual-color printing tech, Nike says it will be able to apply color through programming as precise as the shape itself.

Prototype images show the Air Max 1000 split into two distinct color zones. Purple extends from the sole well up through the upper, meeting black at the wavy line that runs across the profile. A black Air Max unit is then popped into the heel for further contrast.

Nike first introduced the Air Max 1000, with design lines inspired by the original Air Max 1, in limited numbers in late 2024. Wider releases followed in 2025, a year that also saw the debut of the footwear giant’s second model created in collaboration with the 3D printing specialists.

The Air Max 95000 makes use of Project Nectar technology, allowing for printing in greater detail. This advancement can be seen through a second layer of printing atop the silhouette, coming in the form of “Volt” green accents on the black launch colorway. Even though the result is two colors, the process is distinct from that used on the fresh Air Max 1000.

The Nike Air Max 1000 “Multicolor” will release later this year with more details to come. Nike also says future 3D-printed Air Maxes will make use of the new capabilities.
