Nicole Kidman kept Chanel’s cap-toe conversation going in New York City on Monday, building her latest look around a pair of apple heel slingback pumps from the house’s Métiers d’Art 2025 collection.

The gold leather slingbacks came from Chanel’s pre-fall 2026 range and leaned into the label’s renewed focus on sharp toe contrast. Each shoe featured a black patent cap toe against a brushed gold body, plus a slim slingback strap that sat high at the heel. Sheer black tights continued the line through the foot.
The heel delivered the playful twist. Chanel set a bright red orb between the sole and a short black column, creating an apple-like profile at the back of the shoe. The round element sat low, just above a narrow black heel tip, giving the otherwise classic cap-toe pump a more directional finish while still keeping the silhouette narrow and dressy.

Kidman has worn several entries in Matthieu Blazy’s new footwear vocabulary since he took over as Chanel’s artistic director. At the house’s haute couture show in January, she chose a pair of his debut color-blocked pumps from spring 2026, defined by a softly squared toe and a contrasting trim that traced the upper and cut sharply down the vamp. Riley Keough wore the same style in beige and black, quickly putting the pump into celebrity rotation.
Her Chanel shoe streak began even earlier in Blazy’s tenure. At his first ready-to-wear presentation for the house in October 2025, Kidman and her daughters all arrived in black cap-toe shoes and denim, a nod to the two-tone signatures that date back to Coco Chanel and shoemaker Raymond Massaro’s original slingback from 1957. The new apple-heel pair extended that cap-toe revival with a more graphic, collectible slant.

For the New York outing, Kidman layered the pumps under a black tailored look from Chanel’s spring 2026 collection, which she paired with a statement, mid-length leopard-print coat. The textured gray-and-white also featured bright red lining, which complemented the apple charm of her heel.
The appearance brought another Métiers d’Art 2025 piece back above ground in the city where the subway-set “C Line” show first rolled through, and slotted neatly into Kidman’s current stretch as one of Chanel’s most visible brand ambassadors.
