NFL playoff schedule 2026: Who will the 49ers play in the NFC Divisional Round

The San Francisco 49ers overcame numerous injuries to stun the Philadelphia Eagles 23-19 in the Wild Card Round. The 49ers lost tight end George Kittle and starting safety Ji’Ayir Brown but still managed to take care of business on both sides of the ball. It wasn’t pretty, but the 49ers are headed to the Divisional Round. The Eagles took a lead into the fourth quarter when the 49ers took their first lead on a trick play touchdown pass from Jauan Jennings to Christian McCaffrey. The teams exchanged touchdowns after that, and the 49ers were able to stop the Eagles in the final minute.

San Francisco 49ers’ next playoff opponent

The 49ers will not travel to the Emerald City for a rubber match against the Seahawks. The NFL re-seeds after the Wild Card Round and the 49ers are the worst remaining seed. That also means the Rams will travel to face the Bears next weekend. The Seahawks are the No. 1 seed and had a first round bye.

History vs. the Seattle Seahawks

Record: 23-31 regular season, 1-1 postseason

The 49ers and Seahawks have split the season series the past two years. The road team won both games this season, with Seattle securing the No. 1 seed with a 13-3 win in Week 18. The last time they met in the playoffs was 2023, when the 49ers won their Wild Card Round matchup 41-23.
