The NFL season made it through Week 1 with a mix of upsets and wild finishes. There weren’t any major upsets, but we did have some smaller underdogs winning and a wild finish in the Ravens-Bills game.
We’re now on to Week 2 and it’s time for more picks. I’ll be posting straight-up picks every Thursday morning featuring confidence levels. I’ll pick each game’s winner and slot the picks based on confidence levels — high, medium, low, and no. A game with three asterisks (***) after it indicates a game where I’m picking the betting underdog to get the win.
My opening week wasn’t spectacular, but it was solid. I was 11-5 with a 2-4 record on my upset picks. I was 3-0 on my high confidence picks, 5-0 on my medium confidence picks, and 3-5 on my low confidence picks. I was correct in picking the Raiders upsetting the Patriots and the Bills upsetting the Ravens. The Jets, Falcons, and Bears all had their chances but couldn’t take care of business.
And so it’s time for Week 2. We get our first double digit spread of the season with the Ravens laying 11.5 points against the Browns. It’s a divisional game, but it’s hard to see Cleveland hanging close. Of course, crazier things have happened. On to the picks!
