In addition to Jones, backup big Nyara Sabally is also questionable with a right knee injury. Through four games, Jones has been the Liberty’s second-leading scorer and leading rebounder, averaging 16.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game. She’s shooting 51.1% from the field and 47.1% from three.

The Valkyries, meanwhile, are 2-2 to begin the season, and have been led by former Liberty forward Kayla Thornton, who is averaging a team-best 12.8 points per game in Golden State.

Thursday’s game marks the second consecutive match-up between the Liberty and Valkyries; the two teams last faced off on Tuesday, with the Liberty winning 95-67. Jones, the 2024 Finals MVP, had 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists in that one.

The Liberty are currently one of two undefeated teams in the WNBA, having begun their season with a 4-0 record. The WNBA’s other undefeated team is the Minnesota Lynx, who began the season 5-0.
