KULR Technology Group and Hylio have entered a joint collaboration to produce NDAA-compliant battery systems for agricultural drones built in Texas. The partnership centers on U.S.-based design and manufacturing to strengthen secure domestic supply chains for drone energy systems.
The companies plan to design, prototype, and qualify high-performance batteries for Hylio’s unmanned aerial systems. Engineering and manufacturing will take place in Texas, reinforcing regional production for advanced UAS platforms.
“Domestic, NDAA-compliant energy storage is becoming a foundational requirement for advanced unmanned and defense-adjacent systems,” said Michael Mo, Chief Executive Officer of KULR Technology Group. “Our joint development collaboration with Hylio reflects a shared commitment to U.S.-based design and manufacturing and positions both companies to support customers seeking high-reliability battery solutions built in Texas.”
Focus on Battery Performance and Compliance
The collaboration will target mission-critical energy systems that emphasize safety, certification, and supply-chain integrity. KULR and Hylio expect to test multiple battery chemistries and pack designs to fit current and next-generation UAS models. The NDAA-compliant battery systems will improve drone reliability and meet rigorous federal procurement requirements.
Arthur Erickson, Chief Executive Officer of Hylio, said, “We are focused on delivering high-performance, American-made drone platforms to farmers and government customers alike. Partnering with KULR on domestically engineered and manufactured battery systems strengthens our supply chain, enhances performance capabilities, and supports the growing demand for NDAA-compliant UAS solutions.”
This collaboration supports KULR’s plan to expand its U.S. manufacturing footprint. It also reinforces Hylio’s position as a domestic leader in agricultural drone technology designed for commercial and public-sector users.
