There are a number of things that The Masters is synonymous with and innovation is certainly at the very top of that list.
As life and technology have wore on and improved we have seen the greatest tournament of them all not only keep up but surpass the status quo in every single way.
Consider that every year sports fans are giddy just to download the Masters app to use in parallel with the tournament itself. The app allows you to do a number of things, following the score is obviously chief among them, but notably thanks to a few years ago allows you to watch each and every single shot that a player hits throughout the week. It is remarkable.
Busy on Thursday and unable to see all of what reigning champion Scottie Scheffler did? No problem. You can sit back, fire up the app and see his entire round unfold before your eyes. Life simply does not get better.
This year the Masters upped their game (shocker) and took things to an entirely different level. Thanks to their. latest feature Range Tracker you can now track every shot that every player hits… on the driving range.
Here is how the site looked when I took this screenshot at 10:22am CT, just for context.

This was a live look at the range at that moment in question. As you can see it notes the players who hit the shots that are being seen and has a legend to indicate the length that each one reaches.
But say you wanted to see this after the fact because you were busy. Like with their actual shots during the tournament, each player can have their full range session be seen after the fact.
Confused? I got you. Here is what Range Tracker looks like for Rory McIlroy on Tuesday.

As you can see it is noted that we are viewing Rory McIlroy’s range session. The details on the left are related to the shot that is currently seen on scree as marked by the red line on the right of the data on that side as well.
There are a number of shots, 60 in total as noted, that you can elect to see from McIlroy’s session. You can click on each one and track them all individually or you can hit the yellow play button and watch them unfold in the sequence that he hit them with the data from each one popping up on the left. You can even zoom in and drag around to see the shots from different angles!

This is unlike any level of technology that is offered not just within the world of golf, but the sports world at large. You cannot find another sports-related website or app that can do this for you in terms of offering this kind of information and what’s more is doing it so seamlessly.
The app? That’s right. While the stills you have seen so far have come by way of examining the Masters website on a computer, this exact same functionality is also offered within the app (of course it is).

Nobody talk to me all week. I am going to spend each and every single moment that I can in Masters-related data and information.
And it is going to be absolutely incredible.
