The men’s golf national championship made it through stroke play on Sunday and as they narrowed things down to eight teams they also crowned an individual champion.
Ole Miss Rebel Michael La Sasso walked away as the winner with a score of 11-under par and officially became the second men’s player in school history to stand atop the college golf mountain.
The national championship is always a grind as so much golf is played in a given week. While stroke play and the individual competition wrapped up, Tuesday morning brought forth match play that will carry on through Wednesday.
La Sasso’s Rebels will take on the top-seeded Arizona State Sun Devils, but there are incredible matches all over the board.
The quarterfinals and semifinals will be finished across Tuesday as noted with the final round of match play taking place on Wednesday. It will be a battle to see which men’s team wins it all the way the Northwestern women’s team did last week.
All of this is happening in the lead up to the U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally on the LPGA Tour and the Memorial on the PGA Tour.
Quite the week ahead!
