Naomi Osaka Plays With Shapes in Designer Looks for ‘Second Set’ Promo

Naomi Osaka turned to Ferragamo and Palomo Spain for her “Naomi Osaka: The Second Set” press tour in New York City on Monday, promoting the forthcoming documentary with appearances on the “Today” show and a special screening.

For her “Today” appearance, the four-time Grand Slam champion took inspiration from Ferragamo’s spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection, which debuted in September 2024 as part of Milan Fashion Week. The look featured the coordinated khaki slate Sahara jacket with martingale belt and khaki slate crinkled wrap skirt.

Osaka paired the look with sheer black tights, the natural ballerina lace-up thong sandals, and a cement suede multipocket Hug crossbody bag from Ferragamo as well. Her look was accessorized with Alexis Bittar jewelry. Styling for Osaka’s “Today” show attire was provided by K.J. Moody.

In the evening, Osaka changed her attire, wearing a white bubble dress courtesy of Palomo Spain’s resort 2026 collection. The dress included such elements as a high neckline and cuffs at the end of the long sleeves, along with a mini hem. The silhouette created a bubble-like effect.

Included at the neckline of the dress were long bands of fabric in black, creating a bow for an added feminine touch. Osaka wore statement earrings for the New York City screening of her documentary and wore sheer black tights and black booties to complete her look.

“Naomi Osaka: The Second Set,” which debuts on Tubi on Sunday, chronicles Osaka’s return to the tennis court following the birth of her two-year-old daughter Shai. Osaka spoke with WWD in August 2024 about her return to tennis following her maternity leave, and how motherhood shifted her perspective.

“Things I used to take for granted when I was younger, I can’t afford to do that now,” Osaka said. “It’s incredible how much work goes into being a tennis player. Maybe I didn’t know that before. But now I’m definitely realizing it.”

Osaka recently made the final of the National Bank Open in Montreal on Aug. 7. She’ll compete in the 2025 edition of the U.S. Open at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens’ Flushing Meadows, New York City, beginning Sunday.
