MLB All-Star player voting results are in for 2025, and they’re surprising

Much like the NBA All-Star Game, qualifying for the MLB All-Star Game means that you get enough votes from not only fans, but opposing players and managers as well. While the fans determine the All-Star starters in the field, the pitchers and positional player reserves are decided by player voting and selections made by the Commissioner’s office.

The 2025 MLB All-Star rosters are out. As always, there are some big snubs. The player voting results have now been released, and it shed light on how the rosters came together. Here’s the full player voting results for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game:

The most notable thing on this list is that New York Mets oufielder Juan Soto didn’t make the top six of player voting for the NL outfield. Soto was near the top of our list on the biggest All-Star snubs. His season with the Mets started off rocky, but he’s been on a tear lately. However, that wasn’t enough to get him in the top six of the outfield in the NL.

Another interesting result is Astros’ shortstop Jeremy Peña getting more player votes than Bobby Witt Jr., but neither of them are starting at shortstop. That would be the Athletics’ Jacob Wilson, who got enough fan votes to become the first ever rookie to start the ASG just based on fan voting. On the NL side, a lot of the starters and player voting is chalk, with the fan votes aligning with the player voting in almost every way.

The MLB All-Star game will take place in Atlanta at Truist Park on Tuesday, July 15 at 8:00 pm. You can watch the All-Star game on Fox.
