South Korean rapper and member of K-pop boy band Seventeen Mingyu debuted as Calvin Klein‘s newest ambassador on Thursday, starring in a denim-filled campaign for the brand’s fall 2024 collection.
Directed by AJ Duan and shot by fashion photographer Park Jong Ha, the campaign features Mingyu in Calvin Klein jeans, including cuts and washes styled with classic logo T-shirts, mixed-wash denim layers and lightweight outerwear. In one of the images, he wears a pair of dark ’90s loose jeans with a mid-blue slim denim shirt under a light oversize denim jacket.
The singer posed for photos against soft blue and orange backdrops that added to the campaign’s playful energy.
Mingyu has joined a group of K-pop stars who were enlisted as brand ambassadors for Calvin Klein. The list includes BTS’ Jungkook, who was featured in the brand’s spring 2024 jeans campaign, Blackpink’s Jennie, 2NE1’s Sandara Park, Red Velvet’s Joy and Sunmi. Calvin Klein also recently collaborated with NewJeans on performance looks for their Bunnies Camp 2024 Tokyo Dome event in June.
In recent years, K-pop idols have become popular choices as brand ambassadors for luxury fashion houses, reflecting the growing global influence of K-pop. Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Gucci, Celine and more high luxury brands have announced their own K-pop ambassadors.
In 2024, Calvin Klein has also released successful campaigns with Alexa Demie, Kendall Jenner, Kid Cudi and Jeremy Allen White. The brand’s fall 2024 collection is now available at calvinklein.com.
