Michelle Yeoh Slips Into a Yellow Gown at Visit Malaysia 2026

After a whirlwind 2025 promoting “Wicked: For Good,” Michelle Yeoh kicked off the new year at an event as part of the national launch of Visit Malaysia 2026 on Saturday. The Malaysian actress made a striking entrance in Kuala Lumpur, stepping out in a bright yellow Balenciaga gown paired with a dramatic pearl lariat necklace.

Yeoh’s floor-length gown boasted an empire-style waist and cape-like sleeves that cascaded from her shoulders. A plunging V-neck gave the dress a sultry spin. A plunging V-neck added a sultry edge, while lightweight chiffon — with finely knife-pleated all over — gave the silhouette its airy, fluid movement.

If the dress looks familiar, that’s because Yeoh, who is often styled by Dena Neustadter Giannini, previously wore it at the Balenciaga Haute Couture fall 2023 show. For the high-style affair, she accented the vibrant piece with black oversized glasses, pointed-toe boots and a long fringe necklace.

The 63-year-old has been a brand ambassador for the French fashion house since late 2023, with Balenciaga revealing the news as part of its spring 2024 campaign. Over the past two years, she’s flocked to the luxury label for many a red carpet, including the “Wicked: For Good” Paris premiere, the 2025 Oscars and the 2024 Met Gala.

For the event on Saturday, Yeoh wore the gown alongside a sumptuous pearl lariat necklace, dangly diamond earrings and a coordinating bracelet. Her hair was styled in a high, slicked-back ponytail, while Yeoh’s makeup was glowy and radiant.

“Visit Malaysia 2026 is not just about tourism,” the actress said on stage. “It is an invitation to experience our diversity, warmth, culinary symphony, and our vibrant arts.” Spearheaded by Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, the year-long campaign aims to increase international travel to the country.
