Meryl Streep arrived on the set of “The Devil Wears Prada 2” in New York on Thursday in square-toe snakeskin heels with a marbled outsole — a detail that didn’t shout, but still cleared space in an already impressive shoe lineup that’s included mirrored pumps and crimson satin platforms.
The silhouette featured a low, block heel and softly squared toe, wrapped in a tonal snakeskin print that shifted between warm brown and ashy taupe. The outsole cut clean in a marbled neutral, tracing a hard line between the leather upper and the sidewalk.

Streep wore the animal-print heeled boots with full-length beige trousers and a double-breasted peach trench coat, left open through the hem. A loose white T-shirt peeked through underneath. Accessories stayed pared back: black sunglasses, silver hoops and a cream shoulder bag, letting the pattern of the shoes pop.

It was the first printed shoe seen on Streep this production run, and the only one where surface contrast, not shape or height, did most of the work. Last month, Anne Hathaway wore the Zadig & Voltaire Glimmer Wild Ankle Boots during filming, and while movies don’t typically shoot in order, it’s worth asking whether Hathaway’s Andy Sachs or Streep’s Miranda Priestly is the one influencing the other.
Earlier this month, Streep filmed in sharply pitched red satin platforms with a scooped vamp and sculpted stiletto. A few days before that, she wore squared-off block heels in gray leather, finished with a mirrored base and hidden platform. Each pair has moved between statement and structure, often mirroring or exaggerating the tone of the look above. Patricia Field’s costuming has spent the summer toggling between theatrical and strict. This one lands in between: softer lines for sharp, patterned footing.
Filming continues this week in Manhattan with Streep and Hathaway and joined by Stanley Tucci. “The Devil Wears Prada 2” is slated for release in May 2026.
