Maude Apatow Honored by Max Mara for Women in Film Award

As tradition, Max Mara hosted its annual celebration of Women in Film’s Max Mara Face of the Future Award; this year they’re honoring Maude Apatow.

The actress, writer and director was the 20th recipient of the award — handed at the ceremony on Wednesday night, with Max Mara as presenting sponsor. Best known for her role as Lexi Howard on HBO’s Emmy-nominated TV series “Euphoria,” Apatow was recognized for “embodying style and grace,” while experiencing a turning point in her career and contributing to the community at large.

Held at Chateau Marmont, the evening was hosted by Maria Giulia Prezioso Maramotti, granddaughter of Max Mara founder Achille Maramotti and board member of the Max Mara Fashion Group, while bringing together blended generations of Hollywood — many of whom wore Max Mara.

Along with Apatow, who was dressed in a black cropped top and powder pink skirt, guests donning Max Mara included her mother Leslie Mann; Kate Hudson; Naomi Watts; Sarah Paulson; Amanda Peet; Ryan Destiny; Chriselle Lim; Dylan Mulvaney; Kathy Hilton and daughter Nicky Hilton; Liza Koshy, and Olivia Holt.

Meanwhile, the likes of Maria Bello, Ashley Benson, Cara Santana, Carmella Rose, Ellie Thumann, Emma Brooks, Jurnee Smollett, Larson Thompson, Shanina Shaik, Sophia Culpo and Victoria Justice wore Sportmax, the Italian brand’s sister label. Apatow’s father, director and producer Judd Apatow, was also out in support.

The WIF Max Mara Face of the Future Award has been honoring groundbreaking women in film and television since 2006, including Joey King last year; Yara Shahidi; Lili Reinhart; Gemma Chan; Emily Blunt, and Elizabeth Banks.

Established in 1973, WIF is an organization with a mission to advance gender equity in Hollywood.

“With her recent directorial debut and entrepreneurial vision through Jewelbox Pictures, Maude is expanding her own creative horizons while championing more women to step into leadership roles across the industry,” said Kirsten Schaffer, chief executive officer of WIF, in a statement. “We are deeply grateful for two decades of meaningful partnership with Max Mara, and thrilled to celebrate this milestone together by honoring such an exceptional talent.”
