Mary J. Blige brought serious sparkle to the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party on Sunday in Beverly Hills. The two-time Oscar-nominated actress and songwriter joined a bevy of high-profile guests, including Kendall Jenner in archival Mugler, Keke Palmer in vintage Versace and more.
For the occasion, Blige opted for a custom Gaurav Gupta gown. The ruby red asymmetric dress featured a structural element on one shoulder along with a thigh-high slit and dazzling ornate beading over the bodice of the gown.

Blige’s dress amped up the drama with a flowing train that cascaded along the carpet. The “Mudbound” actress gave her look a monochromatic edge, coordinating her pointed-toe heels, clutch and statement earrings to her gown.
When it came to her glam, Blige’s blond hair was styled straight with a side part. Her tresses flowed down her back. Her makeup featured a glossy lip, smoky eyes and long lashes for a refined, clean visage.

Blige was one of a few stars to style a vibrant red look on the Vanity Fair Oscars Party red carpet. “The Bear” actress Molly Gordon also wore a red dress courtesy of Carolina Herrera, while Teyana Taylor went sheer in a red look courtesy of LaQuan Smith’s fall 2023 ready-to-wear collection.
One of the major trends seen on the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party red carpet were sheer looks. Ciara, Julia Fox, Tate McRae and more stars styled their own iteration on the popular red carpet trend, wearing designers like Ludovic de Saint Sernin, Dilara Fındıkoğlu and more.
