Mary Beth Sheridan Leaving Jonathan Adler to Join Guild Brands as CEO

The Mary Beth Sheridan era at Jonathan Adler is coming to an end.

On Friday, Sheridan, president of the home decor brand, will exit the company to join Guild Brands as chief executive officer and board member.

The parting was amicable and the plan is to quickly fill the position, according to Jonathan Greller, president and cofounder of Consortium Brand Partners, which purchased a majority stake in Jonathan Adler in December 2024 along with American Exchange Group.

“We’re working closely with Mary Beth on the transition,” Greller said. “We’ve already met with several very strong candidates and we expect new leadership will be coming on in the short term.”

Sheridan, who joined Jonathan Adler in October 2025, said she was not looking to leave the company, but when Guild Brands’ owner, the private equity firm Digital Fuel Capital, approached her about coming on board to run its business, it turned out to be an offer she couldn’t refuse.

Because Consortium owns the intellectual property, but American Exchange runs the operating company, she did not see a path to becoming a CEO and board member. Guild Brands was offering that opportunity.

Guild Brands is a platform of online retailers selling artist-made home decor, art, apparel and jewelry. Its primary brand is Artful Home, whose name Sheridan said was a bit misleading since more than half its business is apparel and accessories. “It probably needs a rebranding,” she said with a laugh.

The other brand is Uno Alla Volta, which she described as a “craftsmanship brand that is primarily home but also has accessories and jewelry.”

The plan is to continue to add to the portfolio.

“It’s an exciting next chapter for me — partnering with the strategic private equity firm Digital Fuel Capital, overseeing a portfolio of brands and categories, and leading the reinvigoration of heritage catalog brands,” she said.

Sheridan’s background includes Lord & Taylor and Macy’s where she worked predominantly in apparel, followed by Anthropologie where she was the chief merchant over home and beauty. “That’s what attracted me to Consortium and Jonathan Adler,” she said. “But I think I will be an effective, inspirational leader for Guild Brands.”

She starts her new job on Monday.
