Mariah Carey made lace the story of her latest night out. The singer was photographed in Midtown on Saturday wearing Christian Louboutin’s Km Lace Botta boots, a new-season style priced at $2,495.
The statement boots mixed gothic flourish with precision construction. Sitting on a 100 mm heel with a razor-sharp toe, their corset lacing running the length of the leg. Black floral lace framed in suede traced over sheer panels, offering quick flashes of skin beneath. The finishing touch was Louboutin’s newly developed “Everlasting Red” sole — a coated update to the house’s signature lacquer.

Carey kept the tension between hard and soft in the rest of her look. A cropped leather jacket with square shoulders sat over a sequined tank, while short shorts and glittered tights extended the shimmer. The masculine cut of the jacket against the lace boots echoed the play of structure and delicacy running through the outfit.

The look follows a series of high-impact shoe moments for Carey as she promotes her just-released album “Here for It All.” Just last week, she wore Saint Laurent’s Vendome boots in glossed leather while arriving at “Live With Kelly and Mark.” Earlier this summer, she opted for block-heeled sandals in London and platform Prada heels for her Brighton Pride performance.
Lace has been gaining traction across celebrity footwear this season. Barbara Palvin recently appeared at the US Open in white lace Casadei pumps, while Amal Clooney wore Prada slingbacks with lace overlays in Venice. Christian Louboutin himself revived the aesthetic earlier this year with the Cassia Lace Up, part of his expanded Nudes capsule.
With Carey stepping into the Km Lace Botta, the gothic-lace trend now has one of pop’s most enduring icons attached to it.
