All eyes were on Margot Robbie at the world premiere of “Wuthering Heights” on Wednesday night in Los Angeles, where she donned a sculptured updo unlike anything she’s been seen in before.
The award-winning actress strayed from her signature soft wave aesthetic with the help of stylist Bryce Scarlett, whose A-list client roster also includes Mia Goth, Charli XCX and Hailey Bieber.

To create what’s now been dubbed the “Brontë Bun” (a nod to “Wuthering Heights” author Emily Brontë), Scarlett first combed the Schwarzkopf Professional BlondMe Bondfinity Deep Repair Oil through the lower half of the on-screen star’s muddy blond hair. According to an official press release, this product helps to “extend the hair’s integrity between color services,” which Robbie went to Schwarzkopf Professional U.S. Hair Color Trend Ambassador Jacob Schwartz, the same visionary who brought her “Barbie” blond to life, for.

Scarlett then used a one-and-one-fourth-inch curling iron to create movement throughout the body of Robbie’s hair, setting each section with a clip. On her roots, Scarlett went in with the Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Dust It, ensuring there was a sufficient amount of texture and grip there before using a boar-bristle brush to separate the curls on the crown of her head and around the sides.
When it was time to form the bun, Scarlett gently gathered Robbie’s hair into two ponytails just above the nape of her neck, pinning the ends underneath. The Schwarzkopf Professional BlondMe Bond Repair Sealing Balm, Precision Lightener and OSiS+ Freeze Hairspray was used to secure the shape and control the lift.

Her fashion, a custom look by Schiaparelli, did well to embellish her old world beauty aesthetic, with its dramatic two-tiered, black and red velvet skirt, pooling over her feet. The gown, designed by the French fashion house’s creative director Daniel Roseberry, also featured a nude bodice with a black chantilly lace overlay.
Robbie’s delicate glam was the work of Pati Dubroff. Dubroff was careful not to introduce too much product, except on her cheeks. The rest of Robbie’s makeup was light and even-toned, comprised of subtle shadowing under her eyes and blushed lips.

Considering the current red carpet hair forecast, as predicted by a slew of celebrity stylists in conversation with WWD ahead of awards season, the “Brontë Bun” may just be the next big beauty trend. According to Igor Rosales Jackson, “sleek, structured updos” are already on the rise, specifically those with “clean silhouettes, strong shapes and very intentional styling.”
