The Atlanta Braves hosted ‘Ludacris Night’ at the ballpark on Wednesday to honor one of the city’s most successful rappers. Luda had five No. 1 singles and four No. 1 albums back in the ‘00s, and he’s been a mainstay in the Atlanta sports scene ever since. Remember his wild performance at a Falcons game last season? Well, his first pitch is destined to be remembered just as fondly.
In case you weren’t in high school in 2003 like I was, please go watch the “Stand Up” and “Get Back” music videos. In the former, Luda rocks comically large Air Force 1s. In the latter, the rapper is equipped with the world’s biggest arms. He brought both gimmicks back for his first pitch, and everything about it was perfect.
This is one of the greatest first pitches in MLB history. Please enjoy the genius that is Ludacris.
Here’s a look at the bobblehead the Braves were giving away.
The tweets were also good:
Baseball hasn’t seen anyone this jacked and this cool since Barry Bonds.
If we can put Snoop Dogg all over the Olympics, we as a society can put Ludacris in everything, too. By the way, the Braves beat the Colorado Rockies, 5-2. Make every night Ludacris Night.
