With its corner location and thousands of muddy green ceramic tiles glistening on its facade, it’s impossible to miss the world’s second largest Loewe store in Tokyo‘s Ginza district.
Following a soft opening of Casa Loewe Ginza last month, the brand has lined up a film, city guide, special products and a cocktail event, all kicking off on Friday.
The four-story, 10,400-square-foot unit sits at the intersection of Chuo-dori and Miyuki-dori, and officially arrives on the retail scene as the house celebrates its 180th anniversary in 2026.
Loewe is cementing its historic ties to Ginza — which stretch back 30 years to its first store opening in the district — with a campaign film by French Canadian director Xavier Tera that touches on the neighborhood, its people and shifting identity.

Its multigenerational cast includes artist and frequent Loewe collaborator Junko Asano; actor Arisa Nakano; Hisao Mitani and his pet tortoise, and Yukiko Kashiwagi, wife of Kyu Sakamoto.
Meanwhile, the Ginza city guide lists notable shops, shares “architectural and artistic insights into Casa Loewe Ginza,” and offers behind-the-scenes interviews and stories from the making of the campaign film, according to the brand.
Select shops — including the Morioka Shoten bookstore and the printing store Nakamura Katsuji — are stocking copies of the city guide.
Loewe has been present in Japan since 1973, when it opened its first boutique outside of Europe.
Special products debuting from Friday at the Ginza flagship include a Hammock bag, shearling coat and jacket customized with cherry blossom motifs by Kyoto-based ceramic studio Suna Fujita; a prelaunch of its latest collection with Suna Fujita spanning Amazona and Basket bags alongside charms, hats and small leather goods, and special packaging for Spanish sweets at its gift counter.

The brand, controlled by French luxury giant LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, has been catching up with key competitors in recent years by rolling out more Casa Loewe flagships in such cities as Paris, Barcelona and Madrid. In 2023, it opened a Casa in Tokyo’s Omotesando.
This year, its planning to open its second Casa flagship in Paris, on Rue Saint-Honoré, and plant its first flagships in New York City and Milan.
Casa flagships are the first stores in the Loewe retail network to receive new collections, capsules and limited-edition products. They are designed to resemble the home of a collector, filled with art and objects interspersed among the brand’s clothing and accessories.
The Ginza location boasts furniture by George Nakashima and Gerrit Thomas Rietveld, pendant lamps by Isamu Noguchi, tapestries by John Allen, a suspended neon sculpture by Cerith Wyn Evans, various works by Japanese artists, and several objects from the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize.
Loewe operates 45 retail stores and three outlets in Japan.
