Listen to Stereolab’s New Song “Melodie Is a Wound”

Stereolab are back with another taste of Instant Holograms on Metal Film, their first album in 15 years. They’ve shared the new song “Melodie Is a Wound.” Listen to the single below.

Instant Holograms on Metal Film arrives May 23 via Stereolab’s label, Duophonic UHF Disks, and Warp Records. The 13-track album includes the previously released “Aerial Troubles,” which was mailed out as a mysterious 7″ vinyl single in the mail to select fans before the news broke. Alongside original members Tim Gane and Laetitia Sadier, Instant Holograms on Metal Film features contributions from Cooper Crain, Rob Frye, Ben LaMar Gay, Ric Elsworth, Holger Zapf, Marie Merlet, and Molly Read.

Next month, Stereolab head out on an international tour that’s set to last for months. The band will play various cities in North America and Europe, including a number of festival performances, on through to the end of the year.

Stereolab’s most recent album, Not Music, came out back in 2010. In the decade-plus since, they have reissued a number of their records, with the most recent of that bunch, Pulse of the Early Brain, getting re-released in 2022.
