Listen to Big Thief’s New Songs “Los Angeles” and “Grandmother”

Big Thief have shared two more songs from Double Infinity, their upcoming studio album. “Los Angeles” and the Laraaji-featuring “Grandmother” are about the lovers-to-friends path and the realities of generational love and pain, respectively. The latter was the first song that Big Thief wrote as a trio, following the departure of bassist Max Oleartchik. You can listen to both songs below.

Double Infinity is out September 5 via 4AD. Recorded last winter in New York, the album ropes together all three members of Big Thief with a wide range of collaborators, including Alena Spanger, Caleb Michel, Hannah Cohen, Jon Nellen, Joshua Crumbly, June McDoom, Mikel Patrick Avery, and Mikey Buishas. It’s the band’s sixth studio LP and the follow-up to 2022’s Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You.

Next, Big Thief will head out on tour in support of the new LP. Their current route has them performing across North America from September 17 on through to November 7.
