Liberty Walk Is Modifying A Lamborghini Miura For Real This Time

Japanese tuner Liberty Walk, creator of absurd widebody kits for everything from kei cars and semi trucks to iconic supercars and JDM legends, made waves back in 2018 when it debuted a modified “Lamborghini Miura” at the Tokyo Auto Salon. That car was actually just a replica built on a Ford GT40 kit car frame, but the internet was still up in arms anyway. Well, get ready to pick your pitchforks back up, because for next year’s Auto Salon that kicks off in just over a month, Liberty Walk is cutting up and modifying a real Miura.

Company founder Wataru Kato first started posting about the project a few days ago when work on it started, and he’s been releasing a steady stream of behind-the-scenes content showing off the build. It seems like the Miura was already in fairly rough shape already, or at least in a state of mid-restoration. We can see the odometer in one shot, which shows this Miura has just over 26,000 miles on it, which is respectable for a car like this.

We don’t know much about what the build will look like when it’s done, but that 2018 Miura probably gives us a good idea, as does Liberty Walk’s Lamborghini Countach from earlier this year. Expect a slammed air suspension, wider fenders, big wheels and hopefully a large wing. Japan has a huge modified Lambo culture, where owners give their supercars neon lights, Swarovski crystal liveries, crazy body kits and other wilds mods, so the Liberty Walk Miura should fit right in.

Luckily for you Jalops, I will be at the Tokyo Auto Salon to gaze upon this Miura’s greatness and share it with you all. The show runs from January 10 to 13, and I bet Liberty Walk will have a few other fun cars to show off as well. Are you excited to see what Liberty Walk does with the Miura? Do you think it’s sacrilege? What car do you think LB should do next? Let us know in the comments.
