Leslie Jones put her stamp on the corset trend. The actress and former “SNL” cast member and writer wore a denim take on corsetry on the red carpet last night at “SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert.”
Jones wore a sculpted denim top by Jean Paul Gaultier and paired the zip-up denim corset with a power suit consisting of a cropped jacket and pleated wide-leg trousers. Jones paired the two-tone look with a pointed-toe heels and a touch of sparkle: She carried Balenciaga‘s crystal-covered Hourglass Strass clutch and accessorized with a pair of diamond hoop earrings, Cartier’s Love bracelet, a diamond tennis bracelet, and layered rings.

Corsets have been a popular choice on the red carpet over the past couple of years especially, since emerging as a breakout trend on the fall 2023 Paris couture runways. For the season, designers such as Daniel Roseberry of Schiaparelli, Thom Browne, Elie Saab and Mohammed Ashi, to name a few, reworked the corset while paying homage to Jean Paul Gaultier.

Denim corsets have also been trending over the past couple of years with celebrities like Taylor Swift, Ashley Park, Anne Hathaway, Shakira, and Bella Hadid putting their individual twists on the look.
Last night’s “SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert” also brought Jenna Ortega, who put a disco spin on the corset trend while wearing a gold reflective look from Versace’s spring 2025 collection. Ortega wore a sculptural gold top, pairing it with a brown suede skirt, a matching coat, gold strappy sandal heels, and matching minimal jewelry.
The red carpet also brought out Maya Rudolph, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Leslie Jones, Sandra Oh, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bowen Yang, Whoopi Goldberg, Chloe Fineman, Pete Davidson, Ayo Edebiri, Anya Taylor-Joy, Natasha Lyonne, Emily Ratajkowski, Alix Earle and more for performances from Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, The Roots, Nirvana, Post Malone, Arcade Fire, Backstreet Boys, Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, Chris Martin, Robyn and David Byrne.
The “SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert” aired ahead of “SNL50: The Anniversary Special,” which Jones is co-hosting along with Willie Geist. The three-hour event will premiere tonight on NBC at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT.
