Laura Dern in Sheer Dress for LACMA Art + Film Gala 2024 Red Carpet

Laura Dern favored a few popular 2024 red carpet trends for her attire at the 2024 LACMA Art + Film Gala on Saturday in Los Angeles. The Oscar-winning actress put her own spin on the dark glamour aesthetic for the star-studded event.

For the occasion, Dern opted for a long-sleeve black dress with sheer detailing and a plunging neckline. The actress’ dress featured ornately designed lace on the sleeves and bodice of the gown, with a delicate scalloped neckline and laced element tied in a bow.

The lace detailing transitioned into a sheer, pleated skirt with a flowing silhouette. Keeping her dramatic, dark glamour look the centerpiece of her sartorial statement, Dern opted for delicate pieces of jewelry, including small drop earrings and delicate rings and a bracelet.

As for her glam, the “Marriage Story” Oscar-winner’s blond tresses were styled with a side part and featured soft waves throughout. Her makeup included a subtle smoky eye and a slight touch of color with a muted red lip.

Dern is the latest celebrity to take on the dark glamour trend. Prior to the 2024 LACMA Art + Film Gala, Zoe Saldaña put a romantic spin on the trend at the “Emilia Pérez” premiere during the American French Film Festival in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Other stars who have embraced the dark glamour trend in 2024 include Kristen Stewart and Amanda Seyfried.
