LaKeith Stanfield Joins Ranks of Jonathan Anderson’s Dior Ambassadors

HOLLYWOOD CHAMELEON: In the run-up to his second men’s runway show, scheduled for Jan. 21, Jonathan Anderson continues to bolster the ranks of his Dior men’s ambassadors with the appointment of LaKeith Stanfield.

The American actor and musician was among the guests at the designer’s debut show in June, and has worn Dior on the red carpet on several occasions, including the New York premiere of “Die My Love” in November.

At the British Fashion Awards in December, Stanfield was the first to wear the outfit also chosen by Amy Madigan for the Critics Choice Awards last weekend: a floral-embroidered blue denim “revolution” coat, matching waistcoat and light blue denim boot-cut jeans.

“LaKeith has an energy that feels both spontaneous and composed. He’s an actor’s actor, with a remarkable range, bringing something unexpected and magical to every role. I can’t wait to work together,” Anderson said in a statement shared exclusively with WWD.

Stanfield is the second new face named this month, after French actor Paul Kircher, as Anderson pads out the ranks of his men’s ambassadors following a rash of appointments on the women’s side.

Stanfield was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for playing FBI informant William O’Neal in “Judas and the Black Messiah.” The chameleon actor has appeared in everything from the Netflix romantic comedy “Someone Great” to the FX series “Atlanta” and the critically acclaimed horror movie “Get Out.”

Among his upcoming projects is “Lear Rex,” an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “King Lear” starring Al Pacino and Jessica Chastain.

Stanfield, who previously performed under the stage name Htiekal, returned to music last fall with “Fast Life” featuring Kid Cudi, his first major single since signing to the record label Def Jam.

“To collaborate with Jonathan Anderson’s astute vision, within a house whose history reads like art itself, where detail becomes design and design becomes story, is humbling and inspiring,” he said.
