Every Labrum show is a cultural affair.
For fall 2025, building on the brand’s King Charles-approved immigrants-finding-success-here narrative, Labrum staged an hour-long fashion music mashup at the legendary Abbey Road Studios.
In the exact venue where the Beatles recorded most of their albums, brand founder Foday Dumbuya, who was handed the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design by the British monarch in 2023, had models walking down a raised runway in between performances by British rappers Akala, Wretch 32, Ghetts, and Double E with live music by the Mercury Award-winning band Ezra Collective.
Dumbuya said these artists, who share a similar background to him, are pioneers of the music he grew up listening to around the early 2000s when people didn’t know what U.K. music was.
“These guys paved the way for the music to be what it is today. Our parents left everything behind to come here in search of a better life. We came, and we integrated our culture into British culture, and something was born out of it. It’s this joy that we celebrate tonight,” Dumbuya said in front of a packed room with guests including Idris and Sabrina Elba, Andrea Vasiliou, Jess Glynne, Sope Dirisu, and Drizilik.
The collection continued to be a colorful blend of West African heritage and British tailoring.
Blazers came with a hemp leaf motif at the front; a duffle coat was adorned with patches of patterned, traditional African textile, and a blue shirt was printed with the image of Nomoli, a carved stone figurine native to Sierra Leone that’s now closely associated with Labrum.
The show also teased the brand’s latest collaboration with Adidas, including two-tone sneakers, a trapper hat, and a three-stripe trapezoid handbag.
